Since the thirties of the last century, the Schmiederalm hut has been offering catering to its guests.
At the beginning, just some hunters and peasants dropped by for a drink or two. On Sundays and public holidays, sometimes even on the following working days, young people from the village came here to play the accordion and dance. Also bowling was enjoyed until late.
During the years, the hut was leased to different families from Aldino by the original owner called Peregrin Haas. It was from him that Heinrich Oberberger, the present-day owner, inherited the Schmieder farm’s summer pasture in Aldino. He refurbished it, opened a licensed house and got married in 1978.
